		<description>I've heard the expression "the personal is political" for many years now, and still believe it, but also wonder if perhaps another version might be better.... The word political not only carries certain (often faulty, but nevertheless real) connotations, but it's also limiting, because, in fact, some things are NOT political, they are cultural or sociological or spiritual. In other words, I don't know that this word "political" can or should be used as a catch-all in the way it was intended when this statement was first created, if only because, for example, I see culture as FAR more widespread, pernicious, and all-encompassing than politics. So, while I'm not saying that we should all go around saying "the personal is cultural," I do wonder about the usefulness of continuing to refer to all personal choices as political, even when I know that word doesn't just mean democrats and republicans... 

Does any of that make sense?</description>
