I’m behind on several deadlines, so let me sent you elsewhere today. If you’ve not visited the Vegans of Color blog lately, check it out. Two more bloggers have joined the team, bringing more posts and more perspectives. The tag-line for this blog, “because we don’t have the luxury of being single-issue,” signals the variety of topics covered with an eye to intersections. For example, recent posts cover vegetarianism in relation to the hypermasculinity attributed to black men and the whiteness of those skinny women who promote veganism by using a sexist and speciest slur to refer to themselves. Don’t skip the comments on this blog because the posts often lead to interesting discussions.

Thank you for mentioning our blog! I really hope we can get more folks talking about this stuff & examining vegan/AR issues from a viewpoint that is more aware of other identities & oppressions.
